Khingansky Zapovednik
The rich wetlands of the Amur River basin, just north of China, were granted protection in 1963 in Khingansky Zapovednik, located in the Amur Province. Scientists at the reserve’s rare crane reintroduction center work to boost diminished populations of the red-crowned and white-naped cranes in the wild.
