Sayano-Shushensky Zapovednik
This reserve was founded in 1976 in the Krasnoyarsk Region of western Siberia to protect part of the Sayan Mountain Range after the headwaters of the Yenesei River were dammed to create the Sayano-Shushensky Reservoir, allowing access to previously remote taiga and mountain habitats.
